By hand, one at a time
My name is Lauren and bookbinding found me by accident. A few years ago I stumbled across the craft, and I was enchanted. I taught myself, slowly, and never looked back.
A reader and a writer first, I loved the idea of making a book with my hands, not only filling one with words. My background in design came along with me, and the two met somewhere in the middle. It felt like a match made in heaven.
I work from South East Queensland, one book at a time. Not something to read once and set down. Something to hold, to sit proudly on your shelf, to reach for again.
The work
A pre-loved book, taken apart and rebound by hand. A handmade hardcover, patterned endpapers, sprayed page edges, and a ribbon marker with a small charm. Every detail is chosen, nothing is accidental. Some designs are one of one. Others can be made again by hand, one at a time, when a design is loved.

Slowly, and with care
Every book is unbound and rebuilt by hand. It takes hours, and it is meant to. The making is part of what you are buying.
I work with the highest quality professional binding materials, and I reduce and recycle wherever I can. Some of the offcuts even find a second life as miniature book earrings, which you will find on my shop too.
I like to hide small things in a design for those who know the story within. Something tucked into the cover or the charm I choose. Little easter eggs, for the ones who lean closer.
Commissions are open
If there is a book you would like given a second life, we can begin from there. Commissions are a conversation, not a form. You bring the book or the idea, and we shape it together.

New designs are shown here first. Join the list for early access, and you will hear when a new book is ready before it appears anywhere else. A few short notes a year, nothing more.
